Fallout: Yellowstone Masterpost

Berann

Your prairie village in the Montana wasteland has been struck by plague. A burrowing creature with a glowing belly bit a child, who fell ill a few days later. By the time the town doctor noticed the swelling in the kid’s lymph nodes, the disease had already spread among the populace. You were spared the ravages of the plague. You’ve been sent south into the seething cauldron of Yellowstone to find medicine to save your town.

The Colonel's Table: Masterpost

Unknown Armies: The Colonel's Table, a burgerpunk game about the magickal revolution. Blood magic. Scary monsters. Brainwashed cultists. Mad bombers. The snap of the deep fryer as a bubble of hot fat leaps out to kiss your face just below the eye. You aren't insane. You aren't stuck in a dead end job that will eventually kill you. You're workin' for the Colonel.

Holiday in Caledonia Masterpost

The year is 410 AD. The place is a veteran colony, founded by retired legionnaires in the far north of Roman Britain.

It’s been years since anyone heard news from the nearest town, let alone from Londinium or Rome.

This year’s harvest was bad. Winter is fast approaching. Starvation is a real possibility, if the things in the wood don’t get you first.

Welcome to Caledonia.

The Great Glass Mountain Masterpost

Shishkin

...euhemeristic view that the Myths are exaggerations of real historical events. The Beast began as a real animal, a boar or bear or auroch that achieved local notoriety by killing a warchief. The Goblin was an outlaw or social bandit with a physical deformity. The countervailing view holds that the myths are allegories for societal ills or vehicles for moral lessons, with each chronicler adding successive reinterpretations according to the social mores of their age. In this view the mysterious arrival of the Legion late in the tale smacks of an early modern poet inserting their caricature of man under protoindustrial capitalism into the mythic setting: the herd of identical semislaves who speak only in obedient grunts and trudge forward to hack away at their foes with mass produced weaponry.

The paucity of written sources from the period when the events in question allegedly took place makes archaeological evidence difficult to interpret. The chained effigy in the chapel at Widowsgrove, which Lazenby initially believed was the actual resting place of the character from the tale, may postdate the earliest versions of the story. A tomb decorated with images of by-then already mythical heroes every child grew up idolizing and every ruler wished to emulate. The image of the Horned Knight likewise appears in later manuscript illustrations but primary source carvings are difficult to disentangle from similar images of...

The Marriage of the Giantess Morwenna - Masterpost

Egbert Lievensz van der Poel

The Giantess Morwenna is hosting a tournament, a grand melee with a grander reward: her hand in marriage. Her soldiers have scourged the landscape for miles around, kidnapping farmers as slaves or food for the Giantess. Three mercenary armies have added to their depredations, led by a trio of warlords intent on contesting the hastilude. The festivities begin in seven days.

Maintenance and Preservation Masterpost

Maintenance and Preservation was a nine session Esoteric Enterprises open table I ran for a local RPG group. It was my first in-person game in years and was a lot of fun. The players were maintenance workers and had to go spelunking in the undercity to solve problems, dodging monsters and traps and getting chased around by different factions. Thank you to everyone who showed up to play, both the regular players and people who just tried out one session.

The Cage Cup Masterpost

The Cage Cup is an Unknown Armies adventure based on a throwaway line from the Hush Hush splat for 1e, about the suppression of the Bacchanalia in 186 BC. They use it as an example of witch hysteria and why magick needs to be kept secret from the world. I decided to make it a drinking game in the vein of The Eleventh Cup, a scenario I wrote a couple years ago for Delta Green. Eleventh Cup is a four hour investigative meatgrinder of social deduction, while Cage Cup can be completed in a couple hours or less - especially if the players are already familiar with the UA system.

Drink, live well forever.

Dungeon Crawling Double Feature Masterpost

By Zi

Welcome to the Dungeon Crawling Double Feature, a linked pair of adventures for Unknown Armies 3e.

In Part 1: A Dungeon Too Many, the players dig into a dungeon filled with traps, monsters and treasure, in search of the power that will let them topple The Monarchy.

In Part 2: No Country For Old Kings, the players get to use all the cool stuff they found in the dungeon to take on The Old King in his desert War Palace.

These dungeons are based on a discussion I had on 33.3 FM. The hosts wanted to see an Unknown Armies dungeon crawl set in an actual fantasy world, rather than the regular UA3 urban fantasy/occult setting or a historical setting.

The fantasy world I chose is the same implied setting as the one I used in my previous Dungeon23 project: The Mountain of the Mad Marquis.

Temple of the Crying Buddha Masterpost

Temple of the Crying Buddha is an Unknown Armies oneshot inspired by a couple episodes of the 33.3 FM show. Players take the role of Imperial Japanese soldiers during the Rape of Nanking, sent to pillage an ancient temple full of dangerous secrets. A cheap trick, I know, setting the scenario during an atrocity to immediately grab the players' attention. Everyone will get what they deserve.

ICONODULES Masterpost

ICONODULES is a oneshot for Unknown Armies 3e. Cabals across the Fertile Crescent converge on the oldest megalithic site known to man, hoping to steal the living fertility statue unearthed by a University of Istanbul Dig Team.
