The Giantess Morwenna is hosting a tournament, a grand melee with a grander reward: her hand in marriage. Her soldiers have scourged the landscape for miles around, kidnapping farmers as slaves or food for the Giantess. Three mercenary armies have added to their depredations, led by a trio of warlords intent on contesting the hastilude. The festivities begin in seven days.
This adventure began as a Hex24 project. I was previously dismissive of wilderness travel as inferior to dungeon exploration because I consider economy of pacing absolutely essential to running RPGs. Having everything interested concentrated into one place for the players to explore is the best feature of dungeon adventuring, and I made the map physically small in scale (two miles to a hex) so that the players could navigate it without encountering nothing for days on end. I still prefer dungeon delving, but hex crawling was a lot more fun than I expected.
I changed the name from "Wedding" to "Marriage" on the recommendation of Aldrich's player, so it would form a third entry in the "M Series" begun with Manor of the Giant Arminius and Mountain of the Mad Marquis.
