Hex24: The Wedding of the Giantess Morwenna - More Assorted Hexes

The cabbage farms in this hex are depopulated, with signs of violence. Posters for THE TOURNAMENT plastered everywhere.

In the absence of farmers to put down salt, the fields are overrun with Flail Snails eating the vegetables.

This hex is all farmland, with a temple of the Grain Goddess in the center. The stout stone building has a big chimney for the bakery inside, narrow windows, and a barricaded entrance.

The temple is surrounded by 16 of Morwenna’s Level 0 soldiers, laying siege to the place. They’ve got a Combat Scribe but no scrolls and no leadership.

Inside are 6 Level 0 farmers armed with two muskets, spears, swords and improvised weapons, along with their 17 children. The defense is led by Wanna the Level 1 Grain Cleric, whose neuroses and attention to detail saved them from being carried off as slaves like their neighbors. She’s got a Periapt of the Grain Goddess that lets her Create Food and Drink for the group despite her low level.

Gatignol

A hacienda converted to a meatcamp, run by 12 of Morwenna’s soldiers armed with mixed swords and muskets, led by the fiendish and opportunistic Level 2 fighter Maven, who carries six pistols loaded with stunning salts and a Scarab of Protection with 5 charges. The soldiers are often drunk on wine from the vineyards, which helps them withstand the stench and the screams.

The owner’s villa has been looted but still holds 1,554 in assorted furnishings which the troopers haven’t stripped.

The outbuildings are used to hold humans for butchery. There are 29 humans, 14 Halflings and a Dwarf, all level 0.

The ogres Borte and Harman handle the meat, eating the choicest cuts themselves but telling Morwenna they’re giving her the best ones. They chop up their kills in the open and sleep in the fields because roofs make them claustrophobic.

  1. What is a Combat Scribe?

Love the little detail that the big badass longpig-eating ogres are claustrophobic.
